Hi linda. In a weird way, potato chips probably do work, however I doubt that its the oil in them that's doing it. Any time we eat something, our mouth produces saliva to help break the substance down. Weather its potato chips or the popular unsalted saltine trick, singers have been doing this for ever. Try an unsalted chip or saltine next time. Bet it works even better! Oh, you can buy DolceVoce right on this site. thanks Linda. dR

I once heard a singer say that she eats potato chips before she sings because the oil lubricates her throat. I tried this and it actually works. My voice sounded smoother and it was much easier to sing. I would think this spray works the same way. Where can I order some of this spray.

I agree with you 100%. I personally know of singers who can't sing anymore (i.e., nodules on their vocal chords) because they were over-singing and using their throat instead of singing the correct way. I am almost 65 and still have the same voice of more than 20 years ago--except I have a greater range because I am practicing more now. Singing correctly is so important, especially as we get older.

I just found your blog. I am a voice and piano teacher and I like your tips. I agree that eating certain foods can affect the way the voice sounds while singing. I also cannot eat peppermint candy or Halls before I sing. I will have to immediately start clearing my throat to be able to sing. I haven't tried that throat spray, but would like to. I will be returning to visit your blog.

Hey, I hopped over to your webpage from stumbleupon. This isn't not an article I would typically read, but I loved your thoughts on it. Thank you for creating something worth reading!
